Hiiiii All!! I know its been a REALLYYYY long time since I have posted. Just been busy with the new job, but I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. This post is going to be a little different then all the other ones I have done. I am going to share a little bit about myself on todays post. I went to St. Kitts in February before I was going to start my new job! A little vacay never hurt anyone…I had a blast. The weather was amazing there, mostly in the 80s. I’ll share some snippets of my trip with you all.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone to visit. There is definitely a night life, for those looking for one. The reason for the night life is all the students that study here. Medical/Veterinarian students usually go out on the weekends and party at the “Strip.” The Strip is basically a whole bunch of bars right along the beach. Like every other place that has a large water body, it has jet skiing, boating, snorkeling, parasailing, swimming with the Dolphins, and more.

St. Kitts is a very small island and next to it is another small island called Nevis. You can go to Nevis via a ferry. There is definitely a lot to do on this island. I did hiking, swimming with the dolphins, island tour, bar hoping, and just relaxing on the beach.

Burrito bowls…

Hey all!! I have been super busy lately, on vacation right now and finally got some time to just hang out and chill. Today I’ll be sharing with you all how to make a delicious burrito/burrito bowl! Ever since I moved back home I haven’t had chipotle and I definitely crave it from time to time. Instead of going to chipotle, I just make myself a burrito bowl whenever I crave it and it is definitely a much healthier option.

What the bowl consists of:

Organic boneless thin sliced chicken breast

Bell-peppers (green,red,yellow)

Brown rice

Black Beans

Verde Salsa

How to marinate the chicken:

Plain yogurt (keeps the chicken soft)

Tandoori Masala (indian seasoning)

Salt (very little)

How I make the guacamole:

1 Avocado

Onion finely chopped

Green chili finely chopped

Lime (how much ever you like) (a little less than half for 1 avo)

1 table spoon- Asian garlic red chili sauce (my secret ingredient, now you all know)

How to make the black beans:

I know you can just open the can and they are read to use, but I like to give them a little flavor.

Saute Garlic in a pan, add 2 table spoons of tomato sauce, add water, salt, pepper, and then add the rinsed out black beans. Let them heat for about 15 mins with the lid on.

Now you are finally ready to throw in all the ingredients together to make the perfect burrito/burrito bowl.

-Cook the chicken, cut it into small pieces.

-Get a big bowl, add the rice, beans, chicken, sautéed veggies, guac, salsa, chopped lettuce to top it all off.

For the burrito:

Warm up your burrito in the microwave for 20 seconds.

add all the ingredients, wrap it up!

Now you want to grill it, the best part. I don’t know about you all, I like my burrito crispy. I usually just grill it on a pan, but you can do whatever is more convenient. Then, I usually wrap it in a foil so it doesn’t fall apart on me.

The perfect Açaí bowl

Hi All! Sorry I have been lagging a little on posting lately. Just been super busy with things. On the brighter side I am going to share one of my favorite recipes with you all today. Everyone always asks me for this recipe, so here it is finally!

How to make the perfect Açaí Bowl…

5-6 strawberries (frozen)

A handful of blueberries (frozen)

One packet of Acai (frozen)

Half a cup of greek yogurt (plain)

1/3 cup coconut water (I usually just eyeball it)

1 whole banana

Throw everything in the blender except the banana and granola. Blend until the consistency is perfect (thick not watery). Top it off with banana and granola. Voilá! There you have it, the perfect Acai bowl.

I also want to share the health benefits of Acai with you all. Acai has the highest level of antioxidants compared to any other fruit. Acai berries are low on sugar but have excellent source of iron, fiber, calcium and Vitamin A. These are just a few of the benefits, but if you would like to know more, the link attached here has a lot more information. Acai can be hard to find, some Whole Foods and Costco’s carry it.

Make-up must haves

Hellllooooo! I hope you dolls are having a lovely week. I have been super busy this week but finally got some down time today. I want to share some of my favorite make-up products with you ladies. I hope you all enjoy this post. : )

I love Mac products but I am not a huge fan of wearing there products on a daily bases. I have tried many foundations, but for some reason the only foundation I always end up with is a Mac foundation. I absolutely love this one. It is a build-able liquid foundation, which means you could wear it from day to night. I have not broken out from wearing this Mac foundation.

Some other recommendations for foundations…

I cannot say enough about this Armani Luminous Silk foundation – it is amazing! The only reason why I don’t use this foundation is because the colors do not match my skin tone 🙁  I was absolutely bummed out when I found out that I could not be matched to this foundation. Ladies! If this foundation works for you, get it.  It is great and you won’t be disappointed.

YSL is another make-up brand that makes great foundations. The Touche Éclat Le Teint is great.  This is the one I am planing on switching to after I run out of my Mac liquid foundation.

I definitely prefer liquid foundations over powder foundations, especially for night time. For a morning work/school look, you can definitely wear something lighter. I like to use this BB cream from clinique, if this is not enough coverage for you, you can also mix a pea size amount of your regular liquid foundation.

I also own Bareminerals powder foundation that I like to use for a morning look. I tend to go over with powder after I apply the BB cream from clinique.

Ladies!!!! If you do not contour your face please do. I am obsessed with contouring. I think everyone should couture their face because it gives more definition to ones face. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit in powder. This kit is great if you are just starting out. The colors in this kit are great for olive skin tones. Also, what I love about this kit is that it is super affordable.

I do not contour my face every single day, but when I go out I do not leave the house without contouring. If I am getting ready for a fancy night out, I like to go a little bit over the top and apply a liquid contour and then go over it with a powder contour. For the cream contour I use L.A. Girl concealer stick in bronze.

I love bronzers, usually for a day look I like to use a bronzer on my face instead of contouring. I own this little black book of bronzers by Too Faced and this is was one of the best investments I ever made. This book has great colors to even contour your face.

Ladies this is sold out almost everywhere, but I found one on Amazon and it is only 6 more dollars.

I just recently got into highlighters and I love them. They are so fun, and take your make-up to another level. I use the Champagne pop by Becca. I will also post some of my other favorites below.

I have really bad dark circles, so I definitely like to use a good concealer. I start out with the Armani Master Corrector, and then apply my concealer on top. I use the Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer. I like this concealer but I am a little hesitant on recommending this to everyone. I do not see flawless results from this concealer and I am planning to switch concealers. The one that I have been meaning to switch to is Clé de Peau.  I have only heard good things about this concealer. So why haven’t I switched?! The cost of this concealer is ridiculous, it is a whopping 70 dollars!! Yes 70 dollars. I will buy it eventually, but not sure when.

I know I haven’t even touched on eyes and lips, but I hope to do another post soon with all of my favorite eyeshadows and lipsticks! Most importantly, using the right brushes with all of these products is a must! Consider this to be a Part 1 of the make-up series! : )

Healthy starts here…

Hello all! Happy Saturday, thank god for a long weekend. I do not know about you guys but down here in Ukiah it is literally raining cats and dogs. Stay safe and warm this weekend. : ) Todays post is about juicing. I juice at least three times a week and I love it. I want to share with you guys what fruits and vegetables I use, as well as how easy it is to juice.

Definitely click on the link to see what benefits this juicer has to offer.
Definitely click on the link to see what benefits this juicer has to offer. (juicepresso)

First things first, you have to have the right juicer. I use the brand Juicepresso® pictured above. I love this juicer. It is expensive but its definitely worth it if you are like me and will juice regularly.

It can definitely be hard to get everything ready the day of, so what I usually do is prep for the whole week on Sundays. Also, the best way to juice the greens is to juice them with vegetables and fruits that have more juice (ex: carrots, beets, and oranges). One great benefit of this juicer in particular is that it actually does not get rid of the fiber that most juicers will. Juicing is a great way to get in your fruits and vegetables especially when the juicer does not take out the pulp, because that is where all the fiber is.  Also, If you don’t invest in this particular juicer, that is totally fine, you can definitely find a great juicer at different price points.

So what ingredients am I using…

I throw in some carrots, spinach, kale and chard mix, celery, beets, pineapple, ginger, oranges, and pomegranate.

Skin Care

I thought this post was going to be for my ladies but then I realized that men can use most of these products as well. So this one is not only for my dolls, but for the men too. Now on to the fun stuff ; ). Below I have posted some images of products that I like to use on a daily basis. These are day to day products that I absolutely cannot live without.

First thing is first, what you are using to cleanse your face is very important. I use Clarisonic Mia 2 (Mia 1 is just as good). I bought the 2 because it was on sale years ago. I use my Mia every other day.  There is no need to use it everyday since you do not want to over exfoliate your face. The face wash that I use with my Mia is the Clarisonic Deep Pore CleanserI have really bad pores and this cleanser works well for me. Also, using the right brush head with your Mia is very important. I use the Deep Pore brush head.

I love this Origins Tinted Moisturizer. I have been using it for years, and I am obsessed with it. For those of you that know me, I hate wearing make up everyday. So this is my go to for daily wear. This tinted moisturizer is great for year round use, especially since it has SPF. Ladies I cannot stress enough how important SPF is for your skin. If you are not wearing a moisturizer with SPF in it, please do. It does not have to be a crazy amount of SPF — SPF 20 is more than enough for your face. This applies to men as well, guys please definitely wear SPF on a daily bases. Men do not need a tinted moisturizer but any moisturizer you guys use should have SPF in it.

This right here is the holy grail cream for me. I love love love Good Genes by Sunday Riley. I use this before going to bed every night. I have been using it for three months now and I have definitely seen a difference. My skin has become firm, I now have even skin tone, and it definitely has reduced some of my acne scars. This cream also helps create a brighter, and smooth skin. It is definitely on the more expensive side, but let me tell you this works.

This is another Sunday Riley product that works wonders. It is the Luna sleeping oil which has retinol. This helps fight acne as well as reduces acne, and improves damaged skin.

This product right here is ah-may-zing! I do not own this product but I have used it for a week straight and my skin had never looked better. This reduces pore size like no other. It dissolves dead skin over night, so you have a even toned skin. This is a Glycolic Night Serum. It has many other benefits, click on the link to read more.

Depending on what you want to achieve, I would read up on all three products and chose the one that best describes what you want to accomplish. I swear by all three of these products. They are great, they are all on the expensive side but I promise you all won’t be disappointed.

These are some other options that you can consider as well…

If you all haven’t tried Cetaphil products, definitely check them out. They are great for all skin types. I use this moisturizer everyday.

I would love to hear about the skin care products that you all use, give me your top 3 products!

First and Foremost…

Happy Monday to all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I have always been into fitness. I would not say I am a fitness junkie, but I do believe in leading a healthy lifestyle. I always enjoy a great workout, and recently I got into Crossfit. I would like to tell you all a little bit about cross-fit (for those of you that don’t know).

CrossFit consists of conditioning and strengthening programs that are a mix of body weight exercises, aerobic exercise and Olympic weightlifting. The workout consists of a warm-up, conditioning segment, and the high intensity workout of the day (or WOD), and then stretching.

I am not quite sure if all places that offer Crossfit are the same. I would definitely say that before trying out a CrossFit gym, go there, check it out in person and also ask them if you can get a free class.

My class is broken down into two levels, Alpha and Bravo. You begin in Bravo and work your way up to Alpha. I have been told by my instructor to move to Alpha, but I really enjoy the Bravo workouts and I still get a kick ass workout every single time. I have been doing CrossFit for two months now, and I have seen tremendous improvement. I can definitely say it works. I go 3 times a week, but you can definitely go as many times as you want.

Another thing that I would like to emphasize on is eating healthy. Yes, you can go to the gym and get a great workout, but diet is everything. You must eat healthy! Getting in shape is a combination of working out and eating healthy. It is still not to late to go join a gym or any sort of monthly classes. Start the new year with a bang and I hope this gives you a little bit of motivation to start.
