Happy Monday to all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I have always been into fitness. I would not say I am a fitness junkie, but I do believe in leading a healthy lifestyle. I always enjoy a great workout, and recently I got into Crossfit. I would like to tell you all a little bit about cross-fit (for those of you that don’t know).
CrossFit consists of conditioning and strengthening programs that are a mix of body weight exercises, aerobic exercise and Olympic weightlifting. The workout consists of a warm-up, conditioning segment, and the high intensity workout of the day (or WOD), and then stretching.
I am not quite sure if all places that offer Crossfit are the same. I would definitely say that before trying out a CrossFit gym, go there, check it out in person and also ask them if you can get a free class.
My class is broken down into two levels, Alpha and Bravo. You begin in Bravo and work your way up to Alpha. I have been told by my instructor to move to Alpha, but I really enjoy the Bravo workouts and I still get a kick ass workout every single time. I have been doing CrossFit for two months now, and I have seen tremendous improvement. I can definitely say it works. I go 3 times a week, but you can definitely go as many times as you want.
Another thing that I would like to emphasize on is eating healthy. Yes, you can go to the gym and get a great workout, but diet is everything. You must eat healthy! Getting in shape is a combination of working out and eating healthy. It is still not to late to go join a gym or any sort of monthly classes. Start the new year with a bang and I hope this gives you a little bit of motivation to start.
